New learners of all ages are always welcome. We provide instruments, tuition and guidance for members starting from scratch and those with some prior knowledge of music.

We have developed a unique training programme for learners to give them a good understanding of the musical and other standards required to enable them to play within the main band; during training, there are three levels of achievement and, when those standards are reached, badges and certificates are awarded at the appropriate levels.

During the first half each training session we tend to split up for smaller group or individual tuition. We join together for the second half to gain experience playing different parts as a training band.

Training band takes place on Friday evenings 6.30pm until 7.30pm when the main band starts, at the Methodist schoolroom in Harbour Road, Watchet.
